History of Katya
This is Katyusha before disease relapse
Katyusha is now in Rambam Hospital, Hayfa.
In 2004 the girl was sick all spring. She was diagnosed variously, but none of the diadnosis was not supported afterwards.
That was a sort of testing for our family to go through – our beloved daughter is sick of acute leukemia. It seemed like earth went from under our feet.
After have completed a full course of polychemotherapy in Kharkiv GDB number 16 in gemotologic departement, Katya got into a remission state.
After a course of rehabilitation the life seemed to start coming to normal - the girl was back to school, attended a oriental dance course, learned English language.
In July 2008, Katja went resting to a local camp. When returned from there she did not feel very well, become quick in getting tired again, had a fever. Then, it was a blood test which showed that Katya got a disease relapse. That was a return of a dread dream for all of us. The disease has become more painful, and treatment has become more difficult. We returned into the same hospital for treatement, covered 3 blocks of polihimioterapy, antibiotikoterapy and maintenance therapy.
Unfortunately the hospital does not has enough resources, the local authorities do not provide with any help just suggest to put up with the situation and be complied with what we are offered .
Like any other mother in the world I would like my child to get a better than cure. So I applied to medical centre «Rambam» in Israel. We were invoiced bills to pay and received an invitation to the clinic. October, 12 my daughter and I left Ukraine for Israel. My husband and a little 2 years old sun stayed at home.
There has turned out to be a lot of good people who have taken up our pain and helped us. There are far more of them than cold officials having neither sympathy nor mercy towards other’ people suffering and not wanting to do anything to be helpful in this situation. “ There is a financial crisis, sorry, can not do anything” that was their answer.
We managed to collect most of the funds.
I feel very uncomfortable to write these lines just because psychologically it is not easy to ask for money, but looking at my child’s eyes full of hope and faith, I understand I am right, any other mother at my place would do the same.
But we can not cope with it by ourselves, we implore, you, dear friends, for a help.
We beg you to help us to raise necessary money for our Katya who is so longing to live! Any assistance will be accepted with a big gratitude .
News: On Thursday 20 November the council of physicians came to agreement that Katya needs bone marrow transplantation. The operation costs about 160 thousand dollars. At the moment there are only 50 thousand dollars. Katya and her family more than ever desperately need your help and financial support.
